Activist and folk singer Pete Seeger has died at the age of 94.
Seeger was an inspiration to generations of activists and is credited with reviving the folk music movement in North America. He was a lifelong champion of social justice, inclusion and peace. His reworking of “We Shall Overcome” became an anthem for the 1960s civil rights movement, and he performed it again during the Occupy Wall Street protest.
Seeger was perhaps best known for songs like “Where Have All the Flowers Gone” and “The Hammer Song.” He even picked up a few Grammys along the way.
