Host of “Living on Purpose” Lynn Thompson has known Cara Tilston for almost 30 years since meeting on Vancouver Island, B.C. Canada. In this reflective, informative and encouraging conversation, Cara shares her path through community involvement near and far, including the annual Comox Valley World Community Film Festival; a local group of “Grandmothers to Grandmothers”; nursing in native communities; and cooking for “Power of Hope” workshops that promote youth empowerment. As she herself acknowleges, Cara is open to following the lead that inspiration plays in her life, evidently for the benefit of all. This conversation was recorded in early April 2007 in a quiet corner of Yellowpoint Lodge near Nanaimo, B.C. For more information check out www.powerofhope.org and www.stephenlewisfoundation.org

Thank you for reading this story…
More people are reading rabble.ca than ever and unlike many news organizations, we have never put up a paywall – at rabble we’ve always believed in making our reporting and analysis free to all, while striving to make it sustainable as well. Media isn’t free to produce. rabble’s total budget is likely less than what big corporate media spend on photocopying (we kid you not!) and we do not have any major foundation, sponsor or angel investor. Our main supporters are people and organizations -- like you. This is why we need your help. You are what keep us sustainable.
