The proliferation of bee buzz in the media these days has inspired host of Living on Purpose Lynn Thompson to dust the pollen off this little ditty to share in the hopes of bringing some lightness to the situation, and to encourage the bees to continue buzzing! E.B. White’s “Second Tree from the Corner” is a collection of essays and poems, and this one yearned for song. E.B. White’s inspiration to write this poem came from a U.S. Department of Agriculture Bulletin on the artificial insemination of bees: “The breeding of the bee has always been handicapped by the fact that the Queen will mate in the air with whatever drone she encounters.” Bear with me, honey bees!

More people are reading rabble.ca than ever and unlike many news organizations, we have never put up a paywall – at rabble we’ve always believed in making our reporting and analysis free to all, while striving to make it sustainable as well. Media isn’t free to produce. rabble’s total budget is likely less than what big corporate media spend on photocopying (we kid you not!) and we do not have any major foundation, sponsor or angel investor. Our main supporters are people and organizations -- like you. This is why we need your help. You are what keep us sustainable.
