Brent Seal was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2007 while he was a student at Simon Fraser University. He had a mental breakdown, attempted suicide and was committed to a psychiatric institution for a short period. During his lowest point, he was having episodes of delusional paranoia where he thought his family was being tortured and killed in the room next to him.

However, after his diagnosis, slowly but surely, Brent transformed his life. He is now a mental wellness coach, public speaker and hasn’t had a schizophrenic episode in nearly seven years.
