As Nova Scotia wakes up to their election results and an overwhelming defeat of the NS NDP, some voters are left scratching their heads about what happened.

With voter turnout at only 58 per cent, as reported by Elections Nova Scotia, the Liberals claimed a majority, winning 33 seats in the 51 seat legislature, leaving the historic victory of the NS NDP four year ago in the proverbial dust.
