Jack Layton will be laid to rest today. Though I didn’t always agree with his politics, I will always be thankful for his dedication to the issues that mattered most. Thanks for everything, Jack.
Jack Layton will be laid to rest today. Though I didn’t always agree with his politics, I will always be thankful for his dedication to the issues that mattered most: social justice, equal rights, poverty elimination, clean/renewable energy, universal health care, global co-operation and the advancement of peace.
Perhaps the following quote from Embassy Mag best sums it up:
“He saw the suffering of a human being anywhere in the world as an equally important political problem.”
You will be missed, Jack. Though your time with us was far too short, your vision for a greater Canada will continue.
It’s true what they say… you just may be the best prime minister we never had.
Rest in peace, my friend.
