COPAfinalist2019

Dear readers,

Now that the Canadia Online Publishing Award (COPA) winners have been announced, we are thrilled to report back to you that rabble’s Pro Bono column on medically assisted death in Canada took home the award for Media – Best blog/column.

This three-part series chronicled legal columnist Celia Chandler’s personal experience with assisted dying, in the wake of her partner’s diagnosis with a terminal illness.

We’d like to congratulate Celia Chandler — and all of those writers for the Pro Bono column — for their dedication in exploring the often murky legal waters activists regularly confront in doing their work. Special thanks also goes out to former managing editor Michelle Gregus for her outstanding work in managing this column.

Thank you to all those who read rabble every day. You keep us doing the type of work and covering the kind of stories that we do best.

In solidarity,

Matthew DiMera, acting editor
