It all started in a somewhat innocent way — though police across America don’t seem to think anyone demonstrating against them is innocent these days.

Quentin Tarantino joined in an anti-police brutality in late October, 2015, one of thousands in New York City — but the rally was for justice for police brutality cases across America.

According to the Free Thought Project — which monitors police behaviour — has made the contentions claim (please note the date of original release was February, 2015) stated that police officer have killed every eight hours in 2015 — sending at least three people to early graves per day.

To compare results in Canada, the total number of citizens killed by law enforcement officers in the year 2014, was 14; that is 78 times less people than the U.S.

And for the United Kingdom, one person was killed by police in 2014 and zero in 2013. English police reportedly fired guns a total of three times in all of 2013, with zero reported fatalities.

Speaking at the most current rally, in front of the crowd, Tarantino didn’t mince words: “When I see murder, I cannot stand by…I have to call a murder a murder and I have to call the murderers the murderers.” He then ceded his time onstage to families affected by police violence.

The rally occurred just four days after a New York police officer, Randolph Holder, was shot to death while pursuing a bicycle thief. And while this death is unfortunately, it is does not stop the push torards justice. When asked, Tarantino said that Holder’s death was also a tragedy.

Tarantino’s participation in the New York anti-police rally has caused an immature tit-for-tat battle with some (not all) NYPD officers.

Patrick Lynch, head of the city’s Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association, decided to stage a protest of his own. “It’s time for a boycott of Quentin Tarantino’s films,” Lynch said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s no surprise that someone who makes a living glorifying crime and violence is a cop-hater, too.”

The NYPD are trying to organize a boycott of Tarentino upcoming movie, The Hateful Eight.
