WATCH: a conversation about BDS with Gabor Mate, Mira Sucharov and more

Four Jewish panelists (one Israeli and three Canadians) discuss the pros and cons of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign against Israel.

The campaign arose from a call in 2005 by various Palestinian civil society groups to exert worldwide pressure on Israel to treat its Palestinian citizens with full equality, to end the occupation of Arab lands, and to comply with provisions of international law regarding the rights of Palestinian refugees.

The four panelists:

Michael Barkusky – Economist, accountant and political activist in South Africa (1970-77) and Canada (1989 – present)

Gabor Mate – Vancouver physician and author

Yonatan Shapira – Israeli peace activist

Mira Sucharov – Carleton University professor and columnist for Ha’aretz, the Globe and Mail and the Jewish Independent
