For refugees worldwide, the same demeaning sign is hung at the entrance of far too many countries, including Canada: you are not wanted, you are not admissible, you are undesirable, you are dangerous.

Germany has taken in 30,000 Syrians and Sweden 25,000. Canada has taken in barely more than 1,000. Many have come on their own. They are not part of the 1,300 the government said it would resettle.
