Doug Ford and the Ontario Tories are continuing their attacks on the vulnerable in Ontario. Recently leaked documents dating back to mid-December show plans have already been approved to shift health care services, and the public dollars that fund them, into private hands.
Canadian Doctors for Medicare has this handy tool to compare health-care delivery models on the basis of four criteria:
- Equitable access
- High-quality care
- Effective, clinically indicated services
- Effective integration and system stewardship
Make sure that you evaluate what is proposed using this tool.
In the interim, Christine Elliott, Ontario's Health Minister, has insisted that the government is still listening to constituents about the privatization plan. The Council of Canadians has put together this action to call her.
