As of December 2015, e-petitions that are sponsored by an MP and which have garnered at least 500 signatures can be tabled in Federal Parliament. This means the government must provide a written response, posted online, within 45 days.
Kennedy Stewart, MP Burnaby South, NDP, sponsored the motion that revised the archaic petition rules for the federal government.
Now he is sponsoring a petition, that has garnered 1669 signatures, to stop the TransMountain pipeline. The petition would be more effective with supporters from across Canada. Please sign and share.
