A group of civil society organizations and concerned individuals hosted this press conference in Toronto on the one-year anniversary of the G20 in Toronto. These organizations are pressing for an independent inquiry into illegal police actions taken before and during that weekend. Some have also suggested that outstanding charges should be dropped in light of police abuses - especially conspiracy charges leveled against demonstration organizers who were arrested "preemptively" prior to the summit.

It has been a source of wonder how Hitler, the inept water colour dabbler, could rise to such heights and commit so much evil for just one little psychotic man. How was it possible that over a civilized people, who had given the world a Mozart, a Goethe, a Beethoven, that they sat silent while the Nazi horrors arose around them.
No need to wonder. We have seen the answer right here in Toronto. It was the petty enablers, by the thousands who aided and abetted the mass murder and mayhem. The petty enablers, the peasants with but a sliver of power and authority, who rose to the occasion to bray their support for, no, not Hitler, but for authority, plain and simple. They followed orders. They booked the trains, they ordered the poison gas, they maintained law and order with blind and brutal stupidity, all Officer Bubbles.
The people of Toronto were assaulted in the name of law and order. The people of Toronto were as brutalised and abused as any bike gang rape victim. And what do we have for justice? What do we have for justice? The befuddled moronic whining of a police chief who when confronted by the fact that his police force acted like the Gestapo for one wild weekend, pleads ignorance, pleads weakness, pleads incompetence to justify this outrage.
And everybody knows that he isn't the real culprit. He's the fall guy. The RCMP called all the shots, it was the RCMP that ordered the stand down to allow a little graphic violence to justify their truly shocking and grotesque funding. The RCMP did to Toronto what it did to Mr. Dziekanski: it tased our co-called public servants into comatose, nay, lethal compliance.
As for the integrity of the political establishment, well, we know what Tony's asking price was for his selling out the people of Canada. And as for our born-again dinosaur-riding bumpkin PM, his Kahanist friends in Israel taught him all he knows about how to deal with recalcitrant civilian populations. And McGuinty never said no to anything in uniform. And as for the mayor, like all pseudo-leftist progressives, his balls retract with a whimper whenever professed principles call for action.
Hitler got away with it because of the type and quality of characters we now see on display today in Canada. The guys with guns pushed around people with power, but without guts.
For one brief frightening moment right here in Toronto, we, the people were indeed all Berliners, but from 1934. After one year, to do nothing after what we saw, to do nothing after what they did, well, shall we wait, as did those Berliners in 1934, perhaps 10 years?
