Background

Consent is has been a tricky subject for some sex-positive feminists. While classic “no means no” campaigns are essential to raise awareness about sexual violence, some activists want to tackle the issue with a greater focus on sex-positivity. Hence, consent is sexy has been integrated into many feminist anti-violence campaigns.

Consent workshops not only address how to say no comfortably, but also the underlying aspects of rape culture.

Workshop

The folks at Radical Sex Education have put together a guide for facilitators on how to conduct a workshop on radical consent. This discussion based workshop details exercises, definitions and links for more information. It looks at dissecting power relations through consent and exposes examples of rape culture.

Adding your own multimedia content like videos and music can help make this workshop come alive.
