Democracy strengthens the ability of communities to build a prosperous society that guarantees human rights, freedoms, equality, political pluralism, and accountable government. The upcoming Presidential elections in Colombia offer a historic opportunity for Colombians to transform their democracy and bring about lasting peace. Colombians both in the country and abroad are mobilizing to defend their human right to fair and free elections.

Common Frontiers, The Colombian Working Group, and the Canada Colombia Solidarity Committee are organizing a Canadian/Quebec delegation to accompany and report on the Colombian Presidential election on May 29, 2022.

The delegation is sponsored by: The Public Service Alliance of Canada – Social Justice Fund, Steelworkers – Humanity Fund, The British Columbia Teachers’ Federation, The British Columbia General Employees’ Union, The Canadian Union of Postal Workers, The Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, Le Comité pour les droits humains en Amérique latine, Colombia Working Group, Canada Colombia Solidarity Committee,  and the Americas Policy Group.

rabble.ca is proud to be sending journalist Jase Tanner to report from the delegation. Bookmark this page to keep up with the latest  rabble.ca/ColombiaElection2022 .
