Land’s End recently featured an interview of Gloria Steinem by their new CEO, Frederica Marchionni, in their catalog. The interview was the first in a series called Legends, interviews with people who made a huge impact on their industries and areas of concern. Legends is also part of an effort by the Wisconsin based retailer to make Land’s End appeal to a new generation of consumers.
However, anti-choice activists bombarded their facebook page, Catholic schools threatened to cancel uniform contracts, and due to all the pressure, Land’s End issued an apology for it’s article.
Read the interview, and send their Director of Public Relations, Michele Casper, [email protected], (608) 935-4633 a message supporting the interview by Frederica Marchionni.
While you are at it, remember Patricia Arquette’s speech demanding equal rights at the Oscars. She is now working on one of the issues that made Steinem famous–rekindling the Equal Rights Amendment. Sign this petition demanding equal rights.
