MailChimp is an email marketing service that makes it easy for users to design, mass email and share newsletters across platforms (wordpress/twitter/facebook/etc). Rather than designing from scratch, activists can choose a template and make their newsletter look crisp and clean in minutes. From there, they can email up to 2,000 people on their free account. You can also track the success of your newsletter through google analytics.
Those who use MailChimp’s Forever Free Plan are able to send 12,000 emails a month, to a list of up to 2,000 subscribers, at no cost.
