Have you heard about the World Social Forum? The Forums started in 2001, in Brazil, and now it is the largest gathering of civil society to find solutions to the problems of our time. Each World Social Foum brings together tens of thousands of participants to more than a thousand activities (workshops, conferences, artistic performances etc.) on various themes (social, solidarity economy, environment, human rights, democratization etc.). In 2016, the World Social Forum is being hosted by Montreal from August 9th to 14th!
A successful WSF 2016 is based on the actions of thousands of volunteers to inform and support participants. There are currently working groups being built, conversations being had, and panels and events being organized to define the forum.
Each month, the organizers are conducting both skype calls and in person information sessions about the Forum. Here is the link to the places, dates and times of upcoming sessions. You can also join online discussions and other planning by filling out this form to be directed to the appropriate team.
In short, Canada is hosting the amazing World Social Forum and we must get involved. Another world is necessary. Together it becomes possible.
