As we watch shocked at the reaction of Prime Minister Trudeau to the killing of protesters in Palestine or watched as an attempt to break the 12-year blockade of Gaza was stopped by the Israeli navy, we will keep organizing.  Here is a toolkit with some actions.  We can also write to political prisoners in Palestine, to let them know they are not forgotten.

In 2017, feminist, human rights activist, and Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) member Khalida Jarrar, was detained by Israeli forces at her home in Ramallah during a predawn military raid.  Khalida Jarrar has been fighting for prisoners rights, heading the Prisoners’ Commission of the PLC, and as the former director of Palestinian prisoners’ rights group Addameer.  There are twelve PLC members currently imprisoned by Israel, most of whom are being held like Khalida Jarrar, without charges or trial, in administrative detention, which can be extended indefinitely.

Khalida Jarrar’s next potential release date is end of June (no exact date has been given yet).  Her family has asked that people write to her and ‘tell her she’s not forgotten. Tell her that her struggle, and the struggle of all political prisoners is our struggle as well. Tell her that we will not rest until she’s home and until justice prevails.’  Your letters may be returned by the Israeli prison service, marked unknown or unclaimed. But some letters do get through. So please continue to write. Our encouragement fuels our prisoners’ existence.

Please continue to write:
