As the Canadian government officially closes the Truth and Reconciliation commision the real work begins, the work of continuing to build education about what happened.  We must maintain the movement to address the legacy of residential schools in communities across Canada.

The Legacy of Hope Foundation has developed an app that has tools for educators about residential schools. The app can be accessed on iTunes or Google Play.

You can also visit – to deliver a message to Survivors, their families, communities, and to all Canadians.  Talk about what you think about Canada’s residential school history, and about the importance of reconciliation and healing. Share your videos, poems, performances, ideas, and words. Speak up and speak out!

The Legacy of Hope Foundation (LHF) is a national Aboriginal charitable organization whose purposes are to educate, raise awareness and understanding of the legacy of residential schools, including the effects and intergenerational impacts on First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples, and to support the ongoing healing process of Residential School Survivors. Fulfilling this mandate contributes towards reconciliation among generations of Aboriginal peoples, and between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in Canada.
