Ashleigh-Rae is the 2025 recipient of the Jack Layton Journalism for Change Fellowship. They are a Black, queer journalist, facilitator, and community member dedicated to liberation for all. They have previously interned at Toronto Star, and was selected as the CJF-CBC Black Women's Fellow for 2022. Ashleigh-Rae has written for outlets like Yahoo, Broadview Magazine, IndigiNews, and more. Their work reflects their love of community, and their innate optimism of bettering humanity.
