Charlie Smith is a Vancouver journalist who has worked in the past for the Georgia Straight, CBC Radio, and CBC TV News, among other outlets. He has written about a wide range of topics, including the climate, Indigenous relations, diasporas, colonial history, arts, health, business, politics, books, and legal affairs. Charlie also taught journalism at Kwantlen University College (now Kwantlen Polytechnic University) for seven years, focusing on investigative techniques and reporting in a diverse society. He has never received a cheque from Conrad Black, David Radler, Izzy Asper, or the current owners of Postmedia.
