Diane Wood is a contributor to rabble’s Retiree Matters column and President of the BC Federation of Retired Union Members (BCFORUM). She also serves on the Executive of the Congress of Union Retirees of Canada (CURC). Prior to her retirement, she served as Secretary-Treasurer of the BC Government and Service Employees’ Union (BCGEU) from 1987 to 2005 and as Executive Board Member of the National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE), and represented Canada on the Executive of Public Services International. Diane was a member of the Executive Council of the Canadian Labour Congress from 1984 to 2005 and an Officer of the BC Federation of Labour from 1986 to 2005. She served as Chair of the BC Pension Corporation and on the Board of the Shareholders Association for Education and Research (SHARE) as well as on the Board of Trustees for the BC Public Service Pension Plan, and chaired the BCGEU Pension Plan Board of Trustees.
