Meghan Tibbits-Lamirande is a PhD candidate at Carleton University. Her dissertation, “The Protester as Producer: Militant Action and the Radical Media,” examines how protesters’ tactics against the U.S. war in Vietnam produced new radical media networks and documentary techniques. She also works as the storyteller-in-residence for the University of Ottawa Women’s Archives, where she writes about the history of political activism in Canada and coordinates special projects including exhibits and oral history interviews.
Meghan’s research has been published in Studies in Canadian Literature, Pacific Affairs, and The Gay & Lesbian Review. Her forthcoming essay, “Death before Reenlistment: Sabotage and Vandalism onboard the USNS General John Pope” will appear in the December 2024 issue of American Quarterly.
