Wayne Roberts was best known for his leadership of the Toronto Food Policy Council during the years from 2000 to 2010. After retiring from the paid workforce, he served on boards of several food charities and non-profits, wrote two books on food (The No-Nonsense Guide to World Food and Food for City Building; A Field Guide for Planners, Actionists and Entrepreneurs). He promoted food causes on social media, served as visiting scholar at the University of Toronto's New College, where he spoke and consulted on city food policy and writing for rabble.ca. Wayne Roberts died in 2021.
