In the wake of the recent Kinder Morgan decision protests are ramping up. Here are some important presentations and reports to share with people and cite in your arguments.
The Sacred Trust is an initiative of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation (TWN) which was launched in 2012. Its mandate is to stop Kinder Morgan’s new Trans Mountain pipeline and tanker project, which was approved without the consent of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation. The Sacred Trust has produced its own assessment of the impact of the Trans Mountain pipeline. The assessment report, grounded in Tsleil-Waututh Nation law and backed by research from leading experts confirmed that these risks are unacceptable.
The Sacred Trust project is also been working to build science based alternatives in compliance with First Nations law. Click here to read the action plan which presents a science based environmental stewardship vision for Burrard Inlet. The Sacred Trust has also made the great presentations from the action plan launch and from the Yes Agenda Summit available, both of which brought together First Nations and scientists and resource managers from local, provincial, federal, academic, and environmental institutions
