From the Toronto Pig Save website:

Our mission is to put “glass walls” on Toronto slaughterhouses, including Quality Meat Packers at 677 Wellington St. W., St. Helen’s Meat Packers, Ryding-Regency Meat Packers and Genesis Meat Packers all 3 slaughterhouses located on Glen Scarlett Rd., and Maple Leaf located at 100 Ethel Ave.

Toronto Pig Save started in December 2010 as a grassroots animal rights vegan group, in order to encourage people to try vegan, protect the environment and support farm sanctuaries.

In July 2011, we started holding weekly vigils to bear witness of pigs transported to “Quality Meat Packers” slaughterhouse in downtown Toronto.

In late 2012, Toronto Cow Save started holding weekly vigils and in July 2013 Toronto Chicken Save began holding weekly vigils.

We hold three weekly vigils per week.

As our Save Movement grows, we hope to increase the number and duration of our vigils. Pig Save has grown to an international movement with pig save like-groups in Melbourne (Australia), Burlington, Hamilton, Guelph, Montreal, Brandon (Canada) and Indiana (USA).
