We’re especially grateful to reach this milestone in 2024, after what has been a particularly tough past few months.

As you may know, independent journalism across the country has been hit hard recently, with some organizations making the tough decision to close operations. Thankfully, with the support of our readers, partners, contributors, writers, friends and more, rabble.ca is able to continue to bring you ‘news for the rest of us.’

Each year, rabble.ca releases a comprehensive annual report to share what we’ve been doing and how we spend the money we receive from the community and our sustaining partners. You can find our previous reports here.

As you’ll see in our report, 2023 presented a plethora of newsworthy moments for us to dive into. This included: a summer of record-breaking wildfires; a rise in 2SLBGTQIA+ hate and national push back; #SearchtheLandfill and the fight for justice for MMIWG2S; national union and labour action; and freedom for Palestine.

For this and so much more, rabble was there to keep you up-to-date on the stories that mattered to you. Visit our top coverage and insights from 2023 in our latest annual report today.

Celebrate 23 years of rabble with us!

Today marks 23 years since a group of journalists, writers, and activists came together to establish one of the first digital journalism organizations in Canada, rabble.ca

Since our founding, rabble has been dedicated to shining the spotlight on the news and views missing from mainstream media. And it’s with your support we can keep that mission alive.

Celebrate with us! On our birthday, consider becoming a monthly donor or gifting a one-time donation.

It’s never too late to become a rabble rouser!
