Another selection has been chosen for the Babble Book Club and with that some exciting news as well!

Author Sarah Kathryn York has enthusiastically agreed to join us for a final discussion of her novel The Anatomy of Edouard Beaupre on Tuesday September 25 7:30 p.m. EST/4:30 p.m. PST. Sarah will join the conversation for one hour on our previously established babble thread to answer all your questions and receive your comments.

As always in the Babble Book Club, we encourage readers to participate and discuss their thoughts on and opinions about the novel while reading — inciting debate and thought amongst other readers. I will compile some potential questions based on the ongoing discussion to send to Sarah in hopes of creating a more moderated and organized conversation for everyone; however, we do encourage readers to continue the discussion up until the final conversation and beyond, offering any comments and questions as they see fit with respect to everyone on the forum. Check out some of our previous conversations with Lynn Coady and Farzana Doctor for a glimpse into the chaotic fun that is the Babble Book Club.

For those wanting to join the Babble Book Club discussion, here are some easy steps and tips:

  1. To ask questions and submit comments, you must register as a rabble.ca user, which creates an account that allows access to babble. babble is rabble.ca’s discussion board and online community where users can discuss ideas and opinions and signing up is free and easy. Any questions about babble can be answered or asked on this thread as well as the babble FAQ page.
  2. The Babble Book Club sets up babble threads before our final discussion to promote ongoing conversation — check out our existing thread for The Anatomy of Edouard Beaupre. A babble thread just means the “page” where various babble users (babblers) can post their comments and questions. Babblers post in “real-time” and can also quote other users, use emoticons or post links!
  3. Our author discussion with Sarah Kathryn York will take place Tuesday September 25 7:30 p.m. EST/4:30 p.m. PST in “real-time,” which just means more Babble Book Club members will be present at this time for a more interactive conversation. After the “official discussion” the thread will remain open for readers to post additional questions and comments; however, they may not be responded to immediately!

Sarah Kathryn York describes her novel as “a real labour of love” and is incredibly excited to share her experience and knowledge with the Babble Book Club. So grab a copy of The Anatomy of Edouard Beaupre from your local, CanLit loving bookstore, closest library or the friendly publishers at Coteau Books and start reading with us!
