We arrived in Belém from Sao Paulo yesterday. A small group of us from the UNI-Alter delegation made our way across the Praça da Rebública to the backpackers inn where we’ll be staying. Our very own basement room with hammock hooks.
Yesterday was registration day at the Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia and a good introduction to the sounds and sites that will be home for the next week. So many people, so many languages, so much to see and share and do..
And tomorrow, it begins ! with a march from the Escadinha do Cais do Porto to the Praça do Operário as the opening ceremony. J’ai bien hâte !
