If you’re looking for a job that offers a wonderful work environment and a chance to put your activist ethics and skills to work, you’ve found the right place!
We’re currently seeking editorial interns for six-month internships at rabble. We will be offering an honorarium this year for those who successfully complete the internships.
Applications are due Friday, February 18, 2011.
Internship 1: the rabble podcast network
If you are enthusiastic about audio, radio and podcast production, news and current affairs, and you want to be part of creating a stable, strong, and independent media in Canada — well, you could be the next rpn intern!
As an intern at the rabble podcast network, you will spend eight hours a week working with the rpn’s executive producer mixing and hosting podcasts, scouting material, conceiving promotional ideas for the network, and sending out a weekly newsletter to the rpn mailing list.
You will have the opportunity to produce original material, learn audio editing skills (or hone the ones you have), and to work closely with a group of committed mediaproducers and journalists at one of Canada’s most innovative media websites.
Your location is not important but your access to the internet and ability to meet regularly by Skype, IM or telephone is essential.
Time commitment required: 8 hours per week; location of supervisor: Whitehorse
Please send resume and one-page covering letter describing your qualifications and why you’d like this position to rpn producer Meagan Perry c/o [email protected]. Please note “rabble podcast network internship” in the subject line.
Internship 2: activist toolkit
The activist toolkit is the most recent addition to rabble.ca. It is a dynamic place for community activists to share workshop designs, posters, flyers, on-line tools and ideas. By making these tools available, the activist tool inspires and support the people involved in the community work worldwide by developing leaderships and helping organizations grow.
This internship opportunity involves researching activist tools to help expand this long-anticipated section of the rabble.ca, networking with social change organizations across Canada, as well as drafting and curating toolkit articles.
The time commitment required: 8 to 10 hours a week; location of supervisor: Toronto
Please send a one page cover letter indicating why you think you are the right person for this position to: Kim Elliott, publisher, c/o [email protected]. Please note “activist toolkit” in the subject line.
