Dear rabble supporters,
We are writing to you today with an urgent message: rabble needs your help.
For 22 years, we’ve been dedicated to sharing the news that matters to you, on climate change, feminism, social justice issues, Indigenous news, labour, Canadian politics, and so much more.
We’re proud of our history of sharing news for the rest of us; bringing to the forefront stories often overlooked or left behind in mainstream media. Because of all this and more, we know we hold a critical role in Canada’s news landscape.
Today, however, rabble is struggling. We need your urgent help.
Recently, several grant and funding opportunities did not come through for us as we had expected, leaving us in a deficit.
As your board of directors, we are working hard to find ways to stabilize and sustain rabble, but we must address this crisis head-on. We’ve had to make the painful decision to lay off several staff members, contributors and contractors in order to stay afloat.
Like you, we love rabble and want to make sure it continues for many years to come for our large and diverse rabble community. And so, once again, we must ask for your support.
You have proven to us time and time again that rabble is important to you. You have always shown up for us, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Today, we’re asking you to lend a helping hand again – when we need it most.
We’re aiming to raise $40,000 over the next four weeks to put our organization back on track, sharing the news and views you’ve come to rely on. Will you be part of the solution?
There’s several ways you can financially support rabble during this time – we ask that you choose one:
- Become a monthly donor
- Donate a one-time donation
- Become a sustaining partner
Thank you, as ever, for your continued support.
In solidarity,
Shannon, Archana and Gauri
On behalf of the entire rabble team
