Ottawa’s 3rd Annual Families of Sisters in Spirit Vigil 2013

The Deets:

Friday October 4, 2013

6:00 pm

March starts at the Human Rights Monument on Elgin St. from there marching up the Prime Minister’s Office.

Ottawa, Ontario

The Call Out:

FWD: Families of Sisters In Spirit (FSIS) 2013 Vigil will be starting at 6 pm at the Human Rights Monument on Elgin St. from there Marching up the Prime Minister’s Office where we will have a Round Dance then continue Marching up to Parliament Hill where Families will be speaking.

FSIS believes that no decisions can be made on behalf of Indigenous women, families, communities and Nations without our free, prior, informed consent. This demands our DIRECT leadership in any/all processes. Help FSIS bring as many families as we can to Ottawa to have our voices heard!! In our own words! In our own ways!

Please note that neither Native Women’s Association off Canada (NWAC) or Assembly of First Nations (AFN) are involved in this march/vigil in any way. If you see otherwise, it is simply not true and an effort to take credit/ownership for the work of families. This is entirely GRASSROOTS and community-led with no support or funding from National Aboriginal Organizations.

Please donate or fundraise on behalf of FSIS to help bring families of murdered and missing Indigenous women to Ottawa!
