Occupy Toronto – Occupy the Climate! Justice for the planet and the 99 per cent
The Deets:
Saturday December 3, 2011
2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Dundas Square
Corner of Yonge Street and Dundas Street
The Call Out:
From November 28 to December 9, 2011, world leaders will be meeting in Durban, South Africa during the broken Conference of Parties convention to discuss climate change.
Canadian climate criminals will be attending these meetings to block progress on global solutions to climate change and instead promote asinine capitalist fantasies about “carbon capture” or “nuclear futures.”
We, the 99 per cent know capitalism is broken and can’t fix the earth. Their solutions are killing the planet and people on the lands.
We, the 99 per cent know Harper and his friends want more mining and tar sands projects, not carbon reductions.
We, the 99 per cent know that they have been negotiating on climate change for most of our lives and have achieved no reductions in carbon emissions. In fact they increase every year.
We will not let the planet be killed in silence.
Expect resistance and defense of the land.
December 3 is a global day for climate action. In Toronto hear speakers and live updates from Durban at 10:00 a.m. at Oakham House (63 Gould Street, Ryerson University). Event link here.
