Exclusive: Bill McKibben of 350.org at COP15: ‘Canada is as big as a carbon criminal as the world has’
On Dec. 15, 2009 – hundreds of registered NGOs were abruptly denied entry to the Bella Centre, where the Cophenhagen 15 UN Climate Summit was taking place.
rabble.ca was one of those denied organizations — but in line, ran into Bill McKibben who gave his views on the talks, the movement, and Canada’s position there-in.
Bill McKibben is an author, environmental activist and co-founder of www.350.org – an international campaign dedicated to building a movement to unite the world around solutions to the climate crisis.
The number “350” refers to the parts per million of CO2 that scientists have identified as the safe upper limit in our atmosphere.
