Ontario will host a pan-American dialogue on long-term climate action at a 2015 Climate Summit of the Americas in Toronto, from July 7-9, 2015. As delegates arrive we must make sure that they hear from the people and rethink their support of initiatives that perpetuate injustice, inequality, inactivity over climate change and the race to the bottom.
On July 5th, people from around the world kick off a week of climate justice with a rally and march in Toronto from Queen’s Park to Allan Gardens. The idea of the march is to build organizing efforts and bring together the many aspects of fighting for economic and environmental justice. You can get involved by learning about and organizing a contingent or by being a marshal or helping the rally and march organizers.
RSVP and find details about the march on facebook here or on the web at http://jobsjusticeclimate.ca
The event will begin with a rally at 1 p.m. at Queen’s Park on Sunday, July 5. Protesters will head south along University Ave. starting at approximately 1:45, turning east on Dundas St. and then north on Jarvis St. They will convene at Allan Gardens for a demonstration and block party from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
Be there and be a part of the organizing for Jobs, Justice and the Planet. Together we can be the change we want to see.
