Soundslides is a program that’s free in the trial version (which never expires). It takes pictures (jpgs) and an audio file (mp3) and helps you create a compelling audio slide show. This software is simple to download and to use. It can be embedded in your blog or shared as a link.
This can be a great way to show a successful protest, event or even an entire campaign. You can choose the speed at which pictures change at. Though the format is fixed (multiple pictures with one audio file) there’s a lot of room for creativity. The audio file could be an edited interview several samples of music edited together or just a sound bed from an event. Audacity can help you edit your audio first. Beware: once you put your pictures and audio file in to Soundslides there’s no way to edit them individually. The program has a few other little bugs, you can’t insert blank slides (have to make a black background in Microsoft paint and then insert it as a picture) but it’s worth it because it’s free!
You can download Soundslides for free by going to their website.
