TXTmob is a mass SMS tool that allows users to share information via cell phone text messaging. It was developed by the Institute for Applied Autonomy. TXTmob is particularly relevant to the activist community, as it can be used very effectively for organizing demonstrations and direct actions.
Although the IAA is no longer hosting the project, the source code is freely available for download here. All that is needed to deploy TXTmob as a service is an SMS gateway.
