On Friday March 18, the Toronto Police Special Investigations Unit found that the officer who fatally shot Andrew Loku would not face charges. Black Lives Matter Toronto and allies organized a tent city against police violence, now in front of the Toronto Police headquarters, and the peaceful protestors have been there for a week, demanding justice and standing up despite intimidation by the police.
On Saturday March 26 at 4:00 p.m. EST, BLMTO is organizing a BlackOUT Against Police Violence.
Read more about the BlackOUT here. If you can’t come out but are interested, follow #BLMTOtentcity for information on how to support and ways to plug in.
