Cecile Cassista is a contributor to rabble’s Retiree Matters column and Executive Director of the New Brunswick Coalition for Seniors and Nursing Home Residents’ Rights. Before retirement she was a national representative with the Canadian Auto Workers Union in Manitoba where she lived for 30 years. When she retired she moved to her home province of New Brunswick to take care of her elderly mother. She is also President of the New Brunswick Federation of Union Retirees. She is the chair of the Town of Riverview Seniors Roundtable. In May 2012, Cecile was elected to the Town of Riverview Council where she serves as councillor at large.
