Genevieve (Evie) Jones is a playwright, actress and theatre creator living on the traditional territory of the
Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe, Huron-Wendat, Mississauga of the Credit First Nation, and
Neutral peoples. She holds a Masters Degree in Theatre Studies from the University of Guelph.
Her research interests look at the function of empathy in theatre, specifically how vulnerability
can be medicine for living in an unnecessarily shameful culture. Genevieve’s work is also
influenced by social and cultural interests connected to her lived experience. She has a vested
interest in landscape/imagery, internal human struggles, and a knack for commenting on
significant issues in the study and the role of performance in society.
