Paul Kahnert, worked at Toronto Hydro for 33 years as an overhead tradesperson and crew leader. Became a union activist. Sat on four negotiating committees, leading successful strikes, defended many members successfully in the court of arbitration, was spokesperson for the Ontario Electricity Coalition. Led the provincial campaign 01/02/03/07 and court case, stopping the sale of Hydro One in the spring of 2002. Worked in the ice storm of ’98. Retired. Two-time cancer and brain injury survivor. Now writes regularly for Rabble and the Hamilton Spectator.
