At our last monthly board meeting, rabble.ca was excited to welcome new members to our board of directors, Tali Zrehen (Canadian Media Guild) and Mustapha Makri (United Steelworkers). At the same time we say goodbye to three long-time board members, Gauri Sreenivasan (Canadian Council for Refugees), Shannon Devine (United Steelworkers) and Archana Rampure (OPSEU/SEFPO). Mary Unan (CUPE National) will remain on board.
Our new board will usher in a new era for rabble, with a particular focus on fundraising and outreach. Their mission starts with working alongside rabble.ca staff and contributors to develop a detailed roadmap that examines the current challenges rabble faces and the opportunities for success.
Please join us in sharing a hearty welcome!
What else is new at rabble?
Last week, rabble.ca celebrated 23 years of publishing!
To mark this milestone, we were very happy to release our 2023 annual budget. There are no regulations that require us to make our annual report public, but we feel it’s important to be transparent and open about how we operate (and, to be honest, we’re very proud of what we manage to accomplish with such a small budget!). Peruse our 2023 annual budget here.
If you like what you see, please consider making a one-time or monthly donation to rabble.ca. It’s never too late to become a rabble rouser.
It takes hard work to deliver independent journalism, especially in today’s climate– but it’s a lot easier with our community backing us. Continue to spread the good word of independent media and support rabble.ca.
Together, we can uphold media democracy!
