Dear rabble readers and supporters,
We hope that our message from last week reached you. rabble is in financial distress and we need your help. Losing some grant money this year has had a serious impact on our bottom line, and we are cutting back every corner we can in order to continue our important work.
We know rabble is an independent and necessary source for progressive news:
- For labour news, rabble is essential – covering topics you won’t see anywhere else;
- Our coverage of parliamentary politics is unique and refreshing;
- Our climate crisis reporting is crucial for being well-informed; and
- Our Off the Hill webinar series brings fresh voices on critical issues.
As our tagline says, we are news for the rest of us. rabble has been around for 22 years – we know that if we all rally, together we have a fighting chance.
We are so thankful to those who have responded. Since our message went out on Wednesday last week, we have raised over $10,000. But we are still $27,237 short of our goal. rabble supporters have dug deep, many donating $50 to $100 each – or more.
Sustaining rabble will take a group effort – from our board, staff, sustaining partners, readers and supporters. Thank you for sticking with us through this difficult time. Your support makes all the difference to rabble.
