Today’s issue of the Yellowknifer reports that the NWT’s Legislative Assembly has decided to spend $400,000 on what one MLA calls a “mortgage-burning” party…. to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the opening of it’s building November 17, 1993… $100,000 on “birthday party” for itself & portraits of former NWT premiers plus another $300,000 more on signage and redesign of park grounds around building.
