One of the things we all know about organizing and activism is that it gets hard and we suffer defeats almost as often as victories. We also have personal demons and hardships we have to bear. When things get tough, we are often told to look on the positive side. However, there is such a thing as toxic positivity which invalidates people’s feelings rather than helping.
