An update from the Allen Gardens protest.
While demonstrators who arrived at Allen Gardens before 2:30 pm were abled to enter the park with relative ease, those arriving at 2:30 pm and after are facing increased police requests to have their property searched; with the risk of detention for non-compliance.
While a large contingent of CUPE activists were able to enter the park without any reaction from the police, activists dressed in more radical street wear are facing search requests. The choice presented is: allow the search or be denied entry.
A large pool of young activists were stopped at the North West corner of Allen Gardens but were able to make it past a line of police bike cops without incedent; probably due to sheer numbers and media present to record the incedent.
Police with bright yellow taser are also present. A police helicopter is circling overhead.
The crowd number now stands at 700.
